Welcome Back from from MMS,
- MMS School Day will now be from 8:20-3:20. Students can start arriving at school at 7:45, this is when staff will be in place to receive them safely. (This time switch is due to Manteo Buses having to make double-runs impacting drop off and pick up times. )
-Every family needs to go to the Parent Portal and fill out the information required to receive the daily Health Screening questionnaire. This is important to assure your child can report to classes upon arriving at school without delays.
-If your child requires bus transportation, even if they have always ridden, you must fill out the Bus Registration form in the Parent Portal. Failure to complete this form will indicate that your child is not a "bus rider" and will not be on the pickup list.
-Please pack your child a bottle of water every day.
-Breakfast will be available for students as they enter the school. They will "grab and go" and eat in their 1st Period Class. Due to social distancing, students will be rotated in the cafeteria for lunch. They will eat one day in the cafeteria and the other in the classroom with a teacher. A lunch menu will be put out by Dare County Schools. It is important to note that there will not be choices, there will be one option. The USDA has provided all DCS students breakfast and or lunch at no cost through the school year.
-Masks will be required by all staff and students. If your child arrives without a mask they will be provided one.
I assure you that we here at MMS are taking all precautions and following the Return To School Safely guidelines. We are working closely with the Health Department and Nurse Jodi, to continue to follow and adhere to the most updated guidelines, which will be strictly followed. For resources you can contact
